ABA Experts to address cross party briefing in Leinster House

Leinster House

On Wednesday June  5th, Irish politicians will be provided with a cross party briefing on the subject of applied behaviour analysis and its benefits when applied to working with children and young people with Autism in an educational setting.

Professor Julian Leslie of the Psychological Society of Ireland’s Division of Behaviour Analysis and Dr Neil Martin from the European Association for Behaviour Analysis will brief those in attendance and provide advice on how current governmental policies can be improved using evidenced based behavioural methods.*

If you would like your TD or senator to attend, please inform them that the briefing will take place in the AV Room at 4pm.

* Professor Mickey Keenan of the University of Ulster was also invited to speak to those attending the cross-party briefing.  For more information about Professor Keenan and the other speakers’ presentations, please see our report on the briefing.

  1. Mickey Keenan says:

Looks like someone forgot to mention that Mickey Keenan was also invited to present. In fact Prof. Keenan made the event happen in the first place after extensive lobbying with a parent in Dublin, Mr. Pat McCormack.

  2. Niall Conlon says:

Hi Mickey, thanks for organising the event. I wrote this post. The fact that you would be addressing the briefing was not mentioned in the invitation I received from Jonathan O’Brien’s office and I based the post on that email.

Your presentation was referred to in the report on the briefing.

Also, you may not have received the email, but I previously emailed you to request a copy of your presentation to host on this site. If you are willing to allow us to host a copy of your presentation, let me know and I’ll add it to the site. Alternatively, if you want to host the presentation on your own site, You Tube or any other site, please send me a link and I’ll publicise it. You should have my email address already, but if not, please use the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page.
